Dream Decorating: a Neutral Palette + Pops of Color

It’s been far too long since I have had time to sit down and scour this internet of ours for ridiculously fabulous images – and even longer since I’ve posted them. Since we spent the first two weeks of October celebrating with blog-i-versary prizes here on ABCD, I feel a little behind on content consumption! I thought I’d kick off the dream decorating today with these gorgeous photos of the home belonging to Guilherme Torres that I stumbled upon at the Contemporist.

If you pop by the article on Guilherme’s studio, you’ll read that it took him TEN (yes, 10!) years to decorate his space. To me, that is a prime example of ‘living with what you love.’ I have said it before ~ by collecting items over time that you can not live without will lead to creating a space that you can not wait to come home to. By avoiding one-stop shopping, your home will become a true reflection of your personal taste and style.I am so totally drawn to this neutral palette. Notice, only the art and scatter pillows add pops of color to his home. This absolutely adds to the flexibility and longevity of the design in the home. If he ever feels like he needs an update, the art can be moved to a different room, accessories may be switched out, and the throw pillows can be slip covered. Smart.
