Jun 30th 2008 Fall Fashion

With all the fall clothes hitting the stores in Soho this week, I have found myself thinking about fashion. Stay tuned as I am going to have a few posts about what to wear.

Boyish or Athletic Figure?

This dress is from the Reem Acra 2008 Fall Collection that I found on Brides.com. It would be a perfect fit for the athletic or boyish figure. The rouching along the sides will trim the waist and accentuate the bum. Beads on the bust will flatter a flat chest. The deep V neck leaves a perfect place to wear a necklace with a pendant (though I prefer the bare clavicle look) and the straps insure that you won’t be hiking up your strapless dress while dancing. In my book this is a win, win, win, WIN situation!

Another option that would also flatter this shape: Intermix, $495. Pretty good price for a wedding gown. Perfect answer for a semi casual celebration. These are actual flat stones that are sewn onto the dress as a design element. I have noticed a recent trend of natural elements like wood, shell, and natural beads/stones in fashion. This is one example. Perhaps it could be worn as the Rehearsal Dinner Dress, you are the Bride after all!

Jun 27th 2008 Whooo-Hoo! Fed Ex came today!!!

You may remember that I had a “Tutors” moment which inspired the way people are going to receive my business card. The custom wax seals that I ordered arrived today. Yes, they’re Black – just like the website and my business card. My theory is to let the brides shine!

FYI: I opted for the “no muss, no fuss” variety. They are real wax seals but with adhesive on the back – you wouldn’t know the difference from a traditional wax seal. This way, every time I want to seal something I don’t have to run for the matches or make a mess. Right up my alley!

The best part is that Rick (who worked with me) placed a complete sample book in the package for me to share with my papercupp clients. He can custom match any pantone color – which pretty much means any color you can possibly think of! Really cool, no?

These are going to be really neat on the sleeve I have designed for my business card. Gorgeous, like being presented with a gift! This is the feeling I want people to have when they open invitations I design. What better way to get that idea across than with my perfectly packaged business card?

Jun 27th 2008 Thank You For The Mention!

Yesterday, for the first time I stumbled onto the {Ritzy Bee} blog. It amazes me how there has been an explosion of bridal blogs since I was married! Everyday I find a new bride blog that I have not been on – each one more creative than the next.

I perused the {Ritzy Bee} and found something that delighted me. Kathryn at Snippet and Ink was a guest blogger on the {Ritzy Bee} this week. How thrilled was I to find that a photo from one of my posts had been featured in a Snippet and Ink inspiration board? Bottom center picture is from my Blackberry Farm post. In my book Kathryn is considered to be a “Queen of Inspiration Boards” and she used a photo from my blog – I am honored. Thanks for the mention Kathryn!
