Saturday Knitting Society – a huge success!

The first official meeting of “The Saturday Knitting Society – Stitch and Bitch” was terrific -!- I can’t believe I didn’t start “the society” sooner.

We started out the meeting by taking a field trip here and here. It was a gorgeous Fall day so we walked from Soho to the West Village and back. The new knitters bought yarn and needles to learn with.

I (as knitters do) have a massive yarn stash – so while I was tempted by a greyish aqua silk and wool combo, I did not shop.

Earlier in the day I baked blueberry-poppyseed scones. They were served with lemon curd. YUM! Speaking of yummy, the Tulips are delightful, no? Pink as bubble gum.

A big HOO-RAH! for Barbie Pink. I simply could not pass them up at the flower market last week. They made me think about being a kid and HER lovely pink accessories – such a great color.

{While I am on the topic of Barbie, *how sweet, sweet, SWEET is this photo?* you must check out this wedding photographer I came across on Twitter – he’s got style!}

Yes, in the background you see just a portion of my yarn stash – the orange and pink yarn in a glass globe – cool storage for a yarn addict, right? TURN it into a decorative element and all of a sudden you don’t have a “yarn problem” -!-

During the meeting (along with teaching beginners and helping out others with knitting issues) I started knitting a very simple cardigan sweater. *black, go figure!* It is a gigantic rib pattern made with Blue Sky Alpaca yarn. I didn’t want to work on any project during our meeting where I would have to count rows or focus too hard on the pattern. Wouldn’t want to miss out on the “bitching” part of our “stitch and bitch!” winkwink.

Our second official meeting scheduled for this afternoon. YAY, I can’t wait!
