She is perfect!

I am sure you’re saying whaaaat is she thinking?!? Here is the deal, the front room has a collection of vintage posters hanging salon style over the entire wall. It’s quite an imposing and colorful statement. When you move to the back of our floor (where Mr. D and I spend our time) the wall in the kitchen/dining area is completely bare! It was worth living with a naked wall for 18 months – as I think I found the perfect object to fill the wall space.

What an ideal foil for those colorful girls in the front!?! This piece is actually a plate that was used for printing posters way-back-when. Cool, right? It is like a gigantic STAMP. L-O-V-E! It will keep the happy girl/large format dialogue going, yet calm things down with the monochromatic colorway and different medium.

This is just a note to say, it’s okay to leave bare spots on your wall. You’re more likely to find the perfect piece for your collection when there is no rush! Believe me, everyday since we moved into our space *February 2007!* I have wondered “What are we going to put on that kitchen wall?” and now I could not be more pleased with my find!

P.S. I am also loving this old butcher block from the same amazing store … I will keep you posted if it finds a new home! winkwink
