GREEN to the CORE – Brides against STYROFOAM Peanuts!

When we were getting married – new items from our registry arrived at our apartment almost daily. It was thrilling to see our crystal and china arrive safely, but I dreaded it all the same. I joked during our entire engagement that I wanted to start a movement amongst Brides. The BASP. “BRIDES Against Styrofoam Peanuts.” Obviously the peanuts are bad for the environment as they are not recyclable. They make a huge mess all over the place. They are difficult to get rid of. *In the City the garbage man thinks that the styrofoam is recycling, recycling man won’t pick up because it is garbage and we get a ticket for having it out on the street on the wrong day!* Quite frankly the way our dishes and crystal were wrapped was total overkill! China cup in a box inside a box in a box that is filled with styrofoam peanuts. OYE!
I was reminded of my “BASP” idea last Saturday this lovely gift arrived. They were perfectly wrapped with no excess packaging, no styrofoam peanuts, and in PERFECT condition:
The gift was from VivaTerra. They are a ecolivingstyle catalogue that is totally green to the core. Even down to their packaging and shipping methods.
Great news, as VivaTerra has a gift registry list!
Eco friendly shopping is a B-R-I-G-H-T idea.
