Last year, House & Garden featured Richard Meier’s Upper East Side apartment – neutral in palette and full with colorful art books stacked high almost like space partitions.

Missing House & Garden!

Just last month *as featured on Desire to Inspire* – Diane Bergeron lives with a book-scaped feature wall.

Book bindings as an interior design feature – With a new personal design project on the horizon, I have thought a lot about living with the look. Elle Decor featured Madeline Weinrib’s personal apartmentguess what? – She has two entire walls covered with books in her NYC loft!

The idea of having all inspiration close at hand while working is fabulous. I wonder if my very favorite red desk could pull off a similar look?!? Yesterday I came across these photos by Patric Johansson and it immediately re-sparked my love for decorating with books.

I agree — books make a fabulous design feature but they are just so difficult to move! I’ve been painfully parting with my book collection before we prepare to move across the country and it stinks!

Tough to keep dust free to, no?

I certainly love the look though.
