When we were engaged, one of the very best things Mr. D and I did was open an American Express card with STARWOOD points! We put all wedding related charges and most of our apartment renovation on the card! Since then we have charged all travel, groceries and other major purchases. As you pay the AmEx off, you get major points which equal free nights at any Starwood Hotel. HOORAY!

Last year, we went to Rome for our FIRST anniversary. We stayed at the SWOON-WORTHY St. Regis in the center of Rome.

Dare I say -?- it may be more luxurious than the hotel in which we got married! All the nights at the St. Regis were “free” as we paid with our Starwood points. It was money that was going to be spent anyway, so why not “get paid” with “free nights” in a luxury hotel!?!

This year to celebrate our second anniversary we are going to Whistler Mountain. Ski-in, Ski-out for SIX days. “Free” YAY! I will still be working *a little* from Whistler but the ABCD Design blog will be on holiday.

We are taking a side trip on our way back from Vancouver to attend a wedding in Portland. I will take that opportunity to meet with Hailey and Evan to discuss their wedding stationery wardrobe. Can’t wait!
