Here we are – it’s moving day! The two-step plan that Mr. D and I set in to place waaaay back at the start of December is finally taking hold. Today is the day that we move some clothes and my office to our new *temporary* spot further downtown. (It is our intention to be in the new apartment for only two months until we figure out our next step.) I have a one day breather tomorrow and then on Friday and Saturday the movers will pack everything else for storage.

People ask if I am sad to leave our home. To be honest, I have never felt more F R E E -!-

1) The clutches of a NYC coop – having your neighbors deciding your financial fate is about the worst feeling EVER. For three weeks and after numerous negotiations our buyer was accepted by them. Never mind that half of them would not pass the board themselves if they were put to apply today! I was on PINS-AND-NEEDLES and now we are F R E E. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

2) Last week I was working at my desk in the middle of the afternoon and someone attempted to break in by rigging our elevator to work without a key. I was in the building alone and to think I could have called the elevator and brought the criminal straight onto our floor … it’s scary! Uh, hello!?! Center of Soho -?- middle of the day when all the Soho shops are open? The economy must be bad if people are breaking in at noon on a Thursday! Also made me wonder if I should be more careful about posting my new address online -???- Note to self: get a P.O. Box for ABCD Designs Bespoke Stationery, STAT.

3) Yesterday I read this which makes me thrilled we got out of the real estate market when we did.

4) Not to mention, we purposely rented an ultra-cushy apartment for the next two months to take the sting out of leaving our home and personal effects. It will kinda be like being on a vacation, so I am DELIGHTED!!

Two stationery sets went off to print this morning. The digital sketches I posted last week for a Chicago wedding and the other set is for Jennifer and Andy – who are marrying in Virginia this July. Check out their first set of sketches, it’s kind of fun to see how the wardrobe has evolved since the first round of edits! Stay tuned, I will post that set of digital sketches tomorrow from my brand new spot.
