Hello My Pretty {House Beautiful}

love-this-look
It’s fresh, clean and modern yet they’ve utilized traditional materials to pull the look off. The bead-board three quarters high up the wall (traditional beachy feel) and wooden roller shades (warm, natural) are a nice touch … I love how the turquoise from the quilt is also brought out in the coordinating bedside lamps. I also adore how a much lighter blue (almost white but not quite white) paint is utilized on the ceiling and the upper walls. It gives a wink and a nod to the blue lamps and turquoise quilt – but it is not too “matchy-matchy.” It’s safe to say that I may try a similar mood in our “guest bedroom” in the new place. You see, I inherited this lovely quilt from my mother …
fab-quilt
The only photo I have of this queen-sized quilt is from Christmas *kindly excuse the wreaths, roping and lights!* I fudged it at Christmastime to dress up our king size bed but I may need to build an entire bedroom around this quilt on a queen sized bed - because it is so gorgeous! Speaking of gorgeous …
swoon
Yesterday, I happened to catch Ina Garten on the Food network. She is absolutely my very favorite TV chef. She knows what she is doing, her recipes actually work, and I totally A-D-O-R-E how the show is shot/edited. I was ever going to have a cooking show she is the one who’d I would aspire to emulate. As I watched her show I thought about Ina’s relationship with House Beautiful. They have featured her homes and apartment in NYC. She also is the “resident foodie” for their magazine.
Twilight Field Journal
Another relationship they hold is with a very cool blog called the Twilight Field Journal – it has not been updated in a while but it describes a house renovation and all the decisions that go into making the choices that they did, and why. Needless to say, it’s a fabulous source of inspiration.
House Beautiful
All in all House Beautiful is a top notch favorite of mine. So guess who was beside herself (and completely flattered) when a Twitter message came in last night: “House Beautiful is following YOU on Twitter!”

Hooray -!- How lucky am I?
