Jul 17th 2009 07:37 am Bride stays true to her vision = Wedding Perfection!

Do you remember the wedding that I designed the Vintage Campaign invitations for? Over the 4th of July Holiday Weekend the Globetrotting Bride did a lovely post featuring the terrifically Red, White and Blue celebration.
Memorial Day Weekend Wedding
The entire event was photographed by Julie Dreelin Beach Productions. I must admit she certainly captured the spirit of the day. I am crazy over the detail shots. It really shows that Maggie and Trevor had a clear vision and did not stray from it. Not even a little bit!

Wedding Invitations Set The Tone

My take on wedding blogs and wedding perfection pressure:
The wedding blog era is upon us. It’s far too easy for a Bride to have waaaaaaaaaaaay too much inspiration. In turn, Brides end up wanting it all! They’ll ask for four colors including banners, crowns, lanterns, pine cones, birds AND pinwheels. Unless they have a very strong sense of themselves OR a really good event planner to reign them in – it’s easy to create a confusing event without a clear statement or cohesive feel. I can’t help but feel the wedding blogs are creating a world of Brides with an identity crisis. It used to be that when the bridal magazines hit the shelves that there were 3 new ideas. Brides would either accept them or reject them and move onto the next magazine. Now there are new ideas every single day! I am not hating on Bridal blogs. They are an amazing source of inspiration. I am just saying that I feel bad for women who get sucked in and lose themselves with insecurity about their wedding day. Maggie and Trevor are the perfect example of a couple who DID NOT buckle and sway or waver due to the additional pressures that this new wedding blog world is putting on engaged couples (especially brides who spend hours and hours scouring the internet for the next biggest and brightest idea.) Maggie and Trevor’s wedding photos are the example of what you can achieve by “sticking to your guns” and creating a celebration that is a true reflection of YOUR personality.

Maggie has the full story of her wedding planning process over at Eat, Drink, Marry. You can follow her wedding planning from engagement to thank-you notes and every sweet little detail inbetween! I am delighted to have been a small part of such a beautiful wedding. I love that the joyous “feel” that was injected into each and every element of their day. Keep in mind that they achieved this wedding perfection by being true to their vision. Want to see more about the Adams-Hanger ‘09 stationery design process? Click here.

I am sure her ears are ringing since I have been talking about her big day … I think this is a wonderful opportunity for me to introduce to you Maggie’s new blog. It’s what I like to call a “nesting” blog. Similar to ABCD Design in that it’s not just about one topic.
ABCD Design: Never Messy, Just Full.
Maggie is a newlywed for heaven sakes – you can’t just write about weddings 100% of the time! Maggie plans to touch on everything from cooking to fashion, politics to paper goods. Sounds like a girl after my own heart! If it ends up being half as entertaining as Eat, Drink, Marryyou’re in for a super treat! So far, she is off to a smashing start. I totally got into her post earlier this week about “dream” real estate shopping. The blog is named The Freckled Citizen. Pop by and leave The Freckled Citizen a comment – tell Maggie that her friend ABCD sent you!

P.S. Now that Mrs. Maggie is all through posting about wedding bliss on Eat, Drink, Marry – I will be posting a sweet little testimonial (complete with photos of her entire wedding stationery wardrobe) later today. Stay tuned to ABCD Design!!

Love it when my blog worlds collide. I’ve been an avid reader of ABCD for a while and then found my way to eat, drink, marry and loved watching Maggie plan her OBX wedding (obx bride myself…any excuse to reminisce!) Hooray for Maggie and her amazing event and hooray for you, that invite set is stunning.
