FrouLala {thanks, I adore you!}
Maybelline, Maybelline, Maybelline… she is magic. I swear, she is full of contagious creativity! I met her in late July at one of my favorite coffee shops in Gramercy Park only after – you guessed it – she and I had met on Twitter and hit it off in a specatcular fashion. 71 Irving Place is in the perfect location. Within a block of Union Square and one block off of the most prestigous (and beautiful!) private park on Manhattan you’ll find 71 Irving Place. The street is a tree lined oasis in the middle of a bustling city. The coffee shop is like taking a step back in time to the coffee houses of yester-year. Not to mention – the espresso is fabulous, the treats are to die for and the sandwiches are incredibly tasty!
I remember exactly when Maybelline followed me. I clicked over to her page to see what she was about and there was no website or link for me to go learn more about her. I thought “Hmnn, no blog? No furniture website?” However, her 140 character bio sucked me in and I followed back. Boy, am I glad I did! Maybelline is a lover of life, an interior/furniture designer, a furniture and home accents manufacturer AND a lifestyle writer!

Anyone who knows me well has realized that I am like a parakeet in a mirror when it comes to sparkle covered or glittery anything. When Maybelline showed up to our coffee tweet-up wearing the necklace above, I had to say “Um, excuse me … but I have to ask you the story of this necklace. It’s incredible.” Before she even told me the story of her “found object” necklace that she MADE, she handed me the most delightful surprise. A gorgeous set of handmade napkin rings! I thought “Are you kidding me? She is amazingly sweet. Could she be more of a renaissance woman? She’s got seriously mad skills and it would be a shame for her not to share and inspire others on a broader level. She needs a blog!” And that is when I started in on trying to convince her to start one. Guess what?

She set up a blog called FrouLaLa! I was so delighted that she took my recommendation to start one. Inspired by the wonderful name, I couldn’t help but think of so many oh-so-Frou-La-La fonts. Instantly full of ideas, I sent her a dozen designs to dress up her blog header and a tutorial on how to switch them out! A blog-warming prize of sorts. In true Maybelline style, she thanked me in a fabulous post this morning. *Please! So not necessary, but very much appreciated!* Pop by and check it out. I can’t wait to see her blog grow and evolve as time passes. Maybelline’s vast creativity is awe inspiring and I think she is definitely is one to watch – a star on the rise, shall we say?

Oh Amy, where do I start?! Cup~Runneth~Over~Moment!!! Thank you so much for being an amazing inspiration in EVERYTHING that you do! Truly appreciate your Blog-A-Delic enthusiasm (which is contagious and the reason why I’m here!), love and support, sending over a baker’s dozen of snaazzzyy headers as a blogwarming present AND this glorious mention! Can I just say how giddy I am and that I feel like the star of the day?? You coined the word ‘blogwarming’ and may have just started a virtual trend. Your true warm nature encompasses the virtual world and is too charming for words. Enthralled and honored to be your friend indeed. Love our growing mutual admiration society! When one leads a very very full life, there’s always room for more! I hope I will be able to pass on and share with many your maximalist tendencies which we all embrace and j’adore!
Hugs and Kisses!!!!

What’s the name of that face, was it done in the mid 90′s by a font house in like ST. Louis or something. That was back like when grunge design broke out onto the new HTML standards and crazy websites just started being designed….
……here’s another fav artist from that period: http://www.pjloughran.com/illustration/portfolio.html

Oh goodness – the honey can’t be any sweeter over here!
I delight in your passion for life. It gives me a great role model.
I hope we get another tweet-up soon.
xxoo to you Ms. Maybelline! xxoo
Neil, I think it is Chato-Band or Nars. I’d have to go back into the file and look, but you’re right – a smidge grungy, softened up by swirly goodness in to border! Thanks for commenting today.
