Jan 29th 2010 Spooning leads to Forking {valentine pop-up shop}

These folded letterpress cards are printed in raspberry color ink on #110lb Cranes ecru color paper. They are $5 a piece. I only printed 200 of them – so once they are gone, they’re gone! I send every piece via USPS Priority mail with delivery confirmation – a flat fee of $4.95 and guaranteed delivery in 2-3 days. International orders have the choice of First Class International mail which is $4.81. Unfortunately, there are no delivery confirmations or tracking numbers for international orders. The best news is that there are not one but two different ways to shop!

Jan 29th 2010 Matt Armendariz {swoon-worthy food photography}

This is the kind of work that makes me want to open up my camera bag and get a lesson (or 10!) at the New York Institute of Photography. From the looks of his blog it seems Matt has given food photography lessons of his own ~ I’d be over the moon to be one of his students! Pop by and check out more of this unbelievably gorgeous food photography on Matt’s blog called Matt Bites and at his website Matt Armendariz.com. I think you’ll find it inspiring too!

Jan 28th 2010 {an update} from the studio

When we awoke this morning New York City looked like we were in a snow globe. What a delight! Now that the snow has subsided, I’ve got a huge day ahead of me. Several projects are being wrapped up. They should be off to the press by tomorrow at the latest. I am still waiting on the *sassy* Valentines to arrive, which I suspect will be any day now. Possibly by tomorrow …fingers are crossed… There is nothing quite like opening a box full of brand new luscious letterpress!

In other news, I am super-excited to announce that The Clueless Crafter and I have joined forces! We are going to be throwing a screening of Handmade Nation on April 10th. We plan to do both a matinee and an evening show with a cocktail mixer in between. What a wonderful opportunity to network with other craftspeople, designers, artists and creatives- don’t you agree? We’re still hammering out the details, so stay tuned. If you’re in the City, we’d love to have you at our party!

Last but not least, as of mid-December I started making a more conscious decisions in my diet. If you’re interested in reading more, pop over to Elizabeth Anne Designs where I shared what I already knew, what I have learned and what my experiences have been.

Jan 27th 2010 kitchen inspiration {great source: decor*pad}

Last weekend, some of my interior design friends on Twitter were having a conversation about their favorite paint colors. Julie Browning Bova suggested I check out decor*pad for inspiration. Obviously, I was distracted from my color search by kitchens. Gorgeous kitchens! Don’t get me wrong, you’ll have to do some sifting through images as there are a lot of *ugly* ones, (this is a result of the fact they let absolutely anyone upload pictures) but I just thought you should know there are some diamonds hidden amongst the rough. Have fun searching decor*pad!

Jan 26th 2010 eye-catching dark décor

Last week, Kristen gave me a “decorating dark” shout out on her blog. (thank-you!) It appears as though I am not the only one collecting examples of how to carry the look off! Seriously, how fabulous is that aubergine colored room? Yum! And we’re not the only two who still have our eyes fixed on dark décor. Apartment Therapy has recently oooohhed and aaahhhed their way through not one but two different decorate your bedroom dark blog posts.
The high-gloss navy blue room above is from Traditional Home Magazine. It makes me really excited to get the paint chips out and start considering other dark paint colors besides black and charcoal. In our last place, (as you may recall) we used Van Buren Brown in my studio. The finished product was quite divine. It was one of two spots in our apartment that I went for dark color. Obviously, that little taste of decorating dark left me longing for more!
