decor progress report: The City Apartment

Snowman image from a new to me blog called Kris’s Color Stripes – it’s worth a peek… she does absolutely breathtaking things with color! All the rest of the pics are mine. (They’re taken by my crappy and nearly dead Fiji digital snap-shot.) Next on my list: figuring out my Nikon DSLR. Gawd, I am so intimidated. Oh, by the way… I posted my banana bread recipe over at EAD Living this week. It’s so totally tasty and a complete breeze to whip together. Click here to be redirected.

Camberley, we got ours at Jennifer Convertibles. It was really reasonably priced – I see similar lucite ones at CB2 for what we got this glass one for a few years ago. I think glass is a lot better because lucite tends to scratch and discolor.
What colors of the mohair do you like?
I am not usually a “pink” kind of girl – but it is more of a mauve/lilac color and it looks so delicious with the pea color.
You can’t go wrong with black mohair – I mean OMG it’s so luxe…
And the grey is perfection – coordinating perfectly with our bed.
As for the eggplant/plum… the one on the left has a lot more depth, it’s 100% mohair. The other plum color is a combination of cotton and mohair, the guy at Zarin told me that it is “nicer” but I don’t think it has as much depth/sheen.
I want to do at least a trio of color – What are your thoughts?

P.S. Thanks for the compliment on my taste!

Question to my interior designer friends:
The black and eggplant/plum (which is located on the far left) are 100% mohair, the others are a combination of mohair/cotton.
They told me that the cotton/mohair is more plush, but I completely disagree.
Anyone have experience with 100% mohair vs combination of mohair/cotton???
Thanks.

OHHH, Show us pictures of your bed? Or, did you already. The headboard looks amazing.

Hey Cindy!
You can kinda see it in the background of the dining table shot. We’re in an “L” shaped studio apartment! follow this link for the floorplan: http://www.abcddesign.com/archives/2009/12/03/the-new-place-welcome-home/
I have not actually posted a link to the bed, but it is The Hepburn Bed (without the tray side tables- it looked to “Jetsons” with them for my taste!) by De La Espada: http://www.delaespada.com/index.php/us/product/select/173 It is truly incredible. The lines of it are gorgeous. Even Mr. D saw it and said – that is it. A real investment piece, if you know what I mean… The legs are walnut and the headboard is suede.
Thanks for the compliment!

I love the depth of the plum and I think 100% mohair would be so luxe for pillows! Since the cotton/wool blend has more color options I would just mix in a few of those but keep the focus on the 100% mohair colors. Hope that helps!
