The Noisy Dog Studio {live with what you love}
Sometimes, unnecessary “necessities” make their way into my possession. You see, Leigh Jackson from The Noisy Dog Studio followed me on Twitter a few weeks ago. I always make it a habit to pop by the url listed in the bio of my new followers to determine if I’d like to follow them back. I hadn’t intended on shopping that morning, but…
I visited Leigh’s website and was instantly overwhelmed by the tender pups I saw staring back at me. To my added delight, she was cleaning out her art studio and the contemporary dog portraits were listed at 60% off! (Go ahead, pop on by. They’re still on SALE!) With The new Country House and all… I figured if my allergies wouldn’t allow for a furry pup of my own ~ perhaps a dog painting would hit the spot?
P.S. Leigh’s specialty is painting custom portraits of pups – After seeing her work in person, I am totally tempted to order a commissioned piece with Cecil’s super-handsome mug on it!

I have a custom painting of my old dog Jack that my best friend commissioned for me, and I just adore it… even if it makes me miss him like mad! A really great gift idea, though.

Ok, this post made me decide. I’ve been thinking of doing a portrait of my dog Henry. He’s a lovely dog, all 140lbs of him! I was afraid that people would think I was crazy and a little weird for wanting a portrait of my pet. But I’ve seen so much fabric and design work that incorporates dog “stuff”, that I was feeling a little better about it. Now this post……seals the deal! Gonna do it!

Leigh’s portraits are AMAZING! Did you know that her work was originally featured in a pet portrait roundup that Domino mag did back in the day? She did a portrait of our Basset Hound Oliver several years ago, and it is truly one of my prized possessions!

Sally, if it makes you happy – do it! I wouldn’t worry about what others think, heck … here I am buying paintings of OTHER peoples dogs … now that is crazy, no? LOL! Live with what you love – your home will become the perfect reflection of you!
Maggie, Karena thanks for chiming in!

Ooh! I’m so excited to learn of her! I’ve been wanting to have a portrait of Billy done for years, and she might just be the right one. Absolutely adorable.
