ABCD’s moving in – this place is for keeps!
If I were a superstar blog writer, I suppose I would have had a slew of guest posts ready to go live this week while I am unpacking all the boxes. But I am not, and I don’t. Heck, with both flooring disasters delaying us by more than 5 business days, I was ready to postpone the move until September. That is, until I learned our movers were going to charge us for changing the move-in date. Not only that, we’d have to pay for another month of storage in the Bronx. Which is out of the question. Instead of putting off the move-in day, we simply had the movers place everything on the first floor while the second floor gets the second and third coat of paint.
Please bear with me… I realize ABCD Design hasn’t been totally itself lately! It takes a lot of time to scour the internet and scout things in real life that inspire me enough to want to share them with you. Between all my personal time being soaked up with renovations, recovering my bike accident, and now unpacking – I am doing all I can just to stay above water!
In happier news, I unpacked all my cookery books over the weekend and they have a new home in the laundry room. It’s so great to see them again – now all I need is our kitchen installed. The art is here, (safe and sound, thank goodness!) and our paintings look great leaning against the dark living room walls. I am truly delighted with our decision to nest in the Country.

Good luck, Amy! Moving is such a gigantic amount of work, and so is blogging. I bet you hardly have time to sleep. Don’t worry, get your boxes unpacked, make yourself a cup of coffee or tea, take a minute for a deep breath in your lovely country place & know we love ya!

There’s a quote I keep handy for times like these…..”You can do it all…..just not at the same time!”
Take care of yourself, your hubby and your new home. We’ll still be here when you get back!
Remember to eat the elephant one bite at a time! LOL
Have fun unpacking!

I am also glad you addressed how much time it takes to find photos to blog about. I am the same way I can’t ….actually will not just throw any ol photo up there for the sake of posting, it needs to speak & inspire me! OK back to finding the perfect photo for my next post! : )

Good luck with it all! I totally understand the feeling and I passionately envy all those superbloggers who are organized enough to store up posts (or get guest bloggers in – thank God I have Chase for Natural History, but poor, poor neglected Passementerie – I don’t deserve any readers at all). (And GOOD GOD isn’t storage expensive?)

take your time! Most of the internet peeps will be MIA from now through the first week in Sept, anyway. Your timing is good.
Enjoy the move!

Oh dear…having recently been through the same thing you’re going through now, I honestly mean it when I say: I feel for you! GOOD LUCK. Make some time to find the teapot and brew yourself a little something every now and then. But most of all, just enjoy rediscovering all your favorite things. Can’t wait to see the final outcome!
