Fall is one of my favourite seasons…it’s so cozy and there is so much beauty and crispness in the air. I love anything butternut squash and a good, homemade rich hot chocolate…yum! Thanks for sharing these beautiful images and Happy Monday

As an Irish girl married to an American, pumpkin is a fairly new experience for me, so I’m still content with plain ordinary pumpkin pie! In fact I had meant to make one today to celebrate said husband’s return from Crete, but was too sleepy/lazy…. Maybe tomorrow…

Sarah and Ludmila ~ you should try this recipe for chocolate chip pumpkin cake bread: http://camillemaurice.com/?p=224 it will give you a whole new experience on pumpkin and you’ll say “forget everything else, it’s pumpkin cake for me!!”
Maureen, I tell ya what, you can live vicariously through me.
Vie, you and I are kindred spirits. Given the posts I see at your blog, I think we like a lot of the very same things!

I agree that fall is like a fresh start. I think it’s all those years of starting a new school year and back-to-school shoppping. I’m always ready to revamp my wardrobe each fall.
On to food… Being in the Southwestern region of the US, fall always means roasted green chilis to me. I can’t wait to get my first bushel and start some slow cooking.

Those salad days of summer are greeted by sugar and spice and everything fattening! I’m thinking of sweet potato pies and apple desserts. Red wine, warm apple ciders and hot chocolate made with organic milk and cream. Plenty of starches and meatier stews for the extra weight gained to keep us warm in the coming months!

While visiting my husbands side of the family this past week/weekend in Michigan we had this amazingly delicious pumpkin roll made with cream cheese. I love practically anything that has cream cheese in it. I was thinking of making it myself and now with this post I think I need to make a few pumpkin recipes!
Amy – While I usually come check you out to see what design ideas you have going on, you have served as my cooking/baking inspirations lately LOL
thanks!
