Happy 3rd blog-i-versary Amy! This is such a lovely offering. It would be perfect for me because: 1) I don’t know what to do with an apron and 2) I’d love to record my son’s musings and give them to him when he’s older. There are so many gems to capture! xxoo Cynthia

I love this. For Christmas last year, I gave my husband a small leather notebook and wrote on the top of each page things we wanted to do while we still lived in NYC before we moved back to CA. I would love to keep that process going, and I think this beautiful ‘My Life Story’ journal may be just the ticket!! Thanks Amy & Michele for such a wonderful giveaway!

That is absolutely beautiful. I remember when I had my baby, people asked me what baby book I was getting and I said none! As the idea had always seemed a little bit cheesy to me – almost entirely, I must admit, because I hadn’t seen a baby book that didn’t make me cringe. The same has to be said of many diaries and so on – they’re always so girly, so frou-frou (which is something I am not, I’m afraid). This, on the other hand, is so austere and chic. What a beautiful design!

I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s beautiful! a perfect gift for a new baby (to keep track of all their memorable moments as they grow) I had a box for my son, but this is so much more handsome … LOL What a wonderful gift of celebration from Michele!

Beautiful way to record your 40 days and 40 nights in the desert of your own life. I can just imagine saints and demons coming to tempt you to give that journal away. Don’t let go – it’s really all that’s left in life – your journey and your voice.

I am an avid writer and I have little journals all over the place that allows me to write things down in a jiffy- something that my children has said or a moment that I want to capture in writing. I have never seen anything like this journal before. I love old books with the ribbon bookmark and the cloth covered bindings and such. What a fabulous way to record ones thoughts. For those of us who do not win, is it possible to purchase this online? Thanks a bunch.

This is a wonderful, thoughtful giveaway. I’m really quite bad at journaling, because I didn’t have any privacy as a kid. Funny that now my blog has become a very public journal, but I suppose I like that I can control what I do and do not share. But I love the idea of starting from prompts; I think it would help me to get started.
Kelly on 06 Oct 2010 at 2:15 pm
What a neat idea! I would absolutely love to win this Life Story Journal. I recently found out that I am pregnant with my first child, so I’ve naturally been doing quite a bit of reflecting on my life recently. This seems to be the perfect time to put these memories and facts down on paper for my children (before the sleepless nights begin and I can’t remember anything anyway!). Plus, I’m about to embark on so many fun experiences that I need to document.
Keep up the great work with the blog, and happy anniversary!

What a beautiful opportunity! The book is just gorgeous…Part of my entire vocation (and thus, life focus), is sharing life stories. I believe it is our stories (comprised of our experiences, our perspectives, our feelings, and the “other”) that make our lives rich or not-so-much. Now that I have two children, this book would take on an entire new meaning.
Thank you for such an awseome giveaway (and congrats on the blogiversary!)

HOLY SHIZ…I am dying for this book. What a killer idea! I think I’m so attracted to this because I live and document my entire life online and it seems so quaint and fab to start documenting it offline.
So, yes: I hope my comment is the random one!
Happy Blog-a-versery Amy…you know that 3 years = 27 online, right?

This wouldn’t be perfectly suited to me, but it would be perfect for my Mom. Recently I’ve been talking a lot with her about her family, genealogy, etc. and I think she wants to put down what she knows for the generations to come.
P.S. What is bible paper?

Oh love this book, Amy! And you know I adore Michele Varian’s store and style. I must meet her next time I am in the city.
We have an old, I mean really old, family Bible, so I am well familiar with Bible paper. It documents all the generations of family on my Dad’s side pretty much back to James Johnston, our first ancestor to arrive on the boat in about 1810.
I would love to pass this beautiful book on to my daughter, so she can begin to record her memories. What a lovely gift that would be.
Happy 3rd B-v again!

What a great idea, and so fit for bloggers!
Well, of course *I* should win it (wink) cause I’m in the middle of a big change in my life, from being interested only in one thing (=books) to discovering my creativity and blogging all about it, and I think it will be fun and interesting to document that.

I love this! I think it would be perfectly suited for me because, I have been thinking a lot lately about keeping our family memories in a book but, tradiotional scrapbooking does not appeal to me. My Grandmother has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimers and it really makes me realize how important it is to write your history down. I love this idea!
Cassie on 06 Oct 2010 at 9:04 pm
Hi! I’d love this journal! This would be perfect for me because I am a journal-writing-finatic! I have had many, many journals over the years, but this one would be the most classic and lovely. Thanks for the chance!

A and M, well this is truly something special. Every decade (I just turned 50) has been such an adventure and as my sons have reached young adulthood I try and share the tales I have to tell. Some unbelievable even to myself. Not being a participant in ‘blogging’ something such as this tome is considerably more my speed. What a great way to spend time with myself while still sharing with others…after I’m gone! How I wish my Mum had left something so precious for her daughters and Grandchildren. I’m inspired.
XOXO ~KBB

I love this so much. I have kept a journal since I was six years old. I have all of them. Does anyone remember the tiny ones covered with flowers with little locks they used to sell in old stationery stores? I have those!
I must have 30 or so journals completely filled with writing, my feeble attempts at poetry, my spilt tears and fears from all the years, and my joys and loves.
I would love to win this, Amy and Michele, but, even if I don’t, I want one!
Thank you for finding this treasure and for, also, simply BEING a treasure yourself and sharing your inspiration and your uniquely designed point of view with each of us, everyday.

I could never buy a Kindle because I love actual BOOKS, paper, leather, linen BOOKS….so very much. I love to hold them, I love their smell. This one is an amazing keepsake that I would treasure. I’ve been keeping journals on and off since the kids were born. My own life story is pretty cool, too (adoption story). Would love to put it all together in that lovely book!

Oh this is absolutely stunning! This would be perfect for me as my {new} husband and I are moving to Turkey in the nest few years. I would love to have a place to document my/our memories here, as well as my nervous feelings about moving to the other side of the world. I love to journal, but often have trouble staying motivated….but I think this beauty could most DEFINITELY keep me motivated!
Happy 3rd…and I look forward to reading you for many more!!!

Oh wow. This book is incredible. I would love to have something like this to document my life right now. My family has hit the time where grandparents are getting older and sickly and babies are being born. Unfortunately, my dad’s father passed last June and I regret that I never heard many of his stories. A book like this would be a perfect place to plop down all of those stories that get passed around about family members so no one ever forgets.
MaryBeth I on 10 Oct 2010 at 5:31 pm
I actually would love to give to my daughter. I think she would love to document her teen years to reflect back on decades from now – the journal also “looks like” her.

I would gift this beautiful book to my young nephew who has shown interest and talent in drawing. He lost his father last year and it might be an inspirational break from baseball and school to consider his own creativity important.
Cindy on 11 Oct 2010 at 6:37 pm
This is stunningly beautiful.
If I won it, I would gift it to my eldest son (a writer/musician) and his fiance (a gifted vocalist and songwriter).
They have such an amazing love story, and I can’t think of a better way for them to continue to show their love for each other.
Both of them value the power of words and music,
and I can imagine their hands as they open the cover and turn the pages
and what they will be inspired to write.
Thank you…just the thought makes me smile!

Are you a journaler Amy? or just a doodler?
I fill about one a month, so this will be a welcome addition to what will be my own library of daily remembrances, creative outpourings, and what for me is the most rewarding discipline in my creative toolbox.
