It’s Summertime {entertaining house guests}

I was invited to a ‘ladies night’ party last Friday night at a new friend’s house in Connecticut. The hostess was unveiling a piece of artwork, and invited about 40 women over for salads and dessert. Each of us made something to share. I opted for my old-time favorite: Prairie Salad. On Saturday, I scooted down to NYC for dinner with family members who were in town for the weekend. On Sunday, I ran back up to the Country House where we proceeded to entertain friends from Tennessee for a few days. I made some beautiful flower arrangements of peonies, snapdragons, and lisianthus. We ate mostly at home. I prepared chicken salad, fiesta salmon with Mexican flavors, and a dish of roasted vegetables with artichoke and feta cheese chicken sausage. I also made Good Morning coffee cake. (If you have not tried that recipe, I suggest you do!) It’s so easy and quick to whip up while drinking your first cup of coffee in the morning. All-in-all it was a wonderful visit, but now I have a lot of catching up to do – I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

    Hi Nancy (@silvermagpies)

    I did not take these photos, they are from the lists I have made at Pinterest. I agree with you -that sunset is something else! Thanks so much for popping by & for tweeting with me about this post … I am dying to know, is that cumin/citrus salmon recipe going to make an appearance anywhere for us to see?

    :~) Yes, it will! The salmon, a few other goodies and some lovely vintage silver will be featured in a guest post fairly soon! As soon as I can release details of where and when I’ll let you know.

    Thanks for asking!
