{Dream Decorating} Articulating Brass Table Lamps

I’ve got my heart set on a pair of dainty brass articulating lamps to sit upon the side tables in our library. Given what the photo looks like above, I think that they’d really pop against our dark grey walls, and speak to the framed art that hangs on the bookcase.Bookcases fill the main wall of our library. They create a colorful focal point, so I felt free to go with a dark color scheme on the walls.  Many say “don’t paint a room dark!” but must tell you that I love our matte black (chalkboard paint) walls. They make the nature outside look like framed art hanging upon them. On the wall to the left of the bookcases, there is a huge window. I covered the wall opposite the window in a grid of mirrors -a similar treatment to what I did in the Soho apartment- which bounces light around the room, and gives a cool perspective from the kitchen next door. It’s a great design feature because I can be cooking something on the stovetop and see/talk to my house guests in the other room even though the design of the kitchen isn’t exactly an open plan.First image: Pinterest via Everything Fab.     Ok, my last two comments did not post so I did a test comment to make sure I can indeed comment!

    I haven’t found any of those lamps lately, though I have seen some at Marshall’s. I’m sure you would prefer some vintage lamps right? If I see some on one of my many excursions, I’ll tweet you!

    Love your use of dark moody colors! I always say this, but I can not WAIT to see your home! Put me on the first to tell list when it is published;)

    Have you tried Robert Abbey? Or Circa Lighting? I think these would be beautiful against the black!

    Actually Katie – both of the CSN links are Robert Abbey-but you’re right-I should check out what else is offered. I will also be sure to check out Circa! Great ideas, thanks!
