Serena and Lily {ABCD Design 4th Blog-i-versary Giveaway}
As luck would have it (just days after I ordered new bedding for our guest bedroom) I got an email from Serena and Lily’s public relations firm telling me about their new entertaining collection called The Art of Gathering. Honestly, I get so many of these emails that I usually press delete. BUT WAIT! Given how delighted I was with the quality of my new bedding, I took a few moments to give the new entertaining line a look-see.
I was delighted to read that Serena and Lily have a similar outlook on entertaining as I do. They describe their new line best: ‘Great entertaining is about creating a world where everyone feels warm, welcome, at ease.’ I couldn’t agree more!
With my 4th blog-i-versary around the corner, I asked them if they would like to provide a prize to one of my readers to celebrate. I am so excited to tell you that Serena and Lily were generous enough to give me a selection of presents to choose from. I hand-picked this Collection of Three Horn Nesting Bowls for one of my lucky readers. They’re quite handsome, don’t you think?
To do to enter to win: leave a comment on this post telling me what you’d put in your set of nesting bowls. Also, feel free to share this post with your friends and followers in your social media streams. (This step will not enhance your chance to win. It’s just about spreading the blog-i-versary love.) Feel free to visit Serena and Lily, like them on facebook, or follow them on Twitter. Just be sure to tell them that ABCD Design sent you. *wink*
October 10, 2011 Update: The giveaway is now officially closed and the WINNER has been announced!

Love your entertaining point of view! It’s nice to be reminded to relax and enjoy the details. The nesting bowls are so fun! Can see them filled with crackers and breads on a holiday appetizer table, or filled with fruit/nuts and left on the kitchen island for holiday guests.

Golly those bowls are just beautiful. I could see serving from the 2 smaller ones, spiced nuts & fruit. Largest bowl would look wonderful with figs & pears in it!
Great collection pieces.

Great fall/holiday look. Three of our holiday favorites-Creole spiced pecans, pumpkin cornbread, & Mandarin orange salad- would “nest” perfectly in these.

Happy 4 years! I think I’ve been a reader for the last two….
I think I’d use the bowls for S’mores – one bowl for marshmellows, one for the graham crackers, another for chocolates. I love the pretty gold rims!

Beautiful! Although you’re discussing entertaining here, I think I would use these to store jewelry — rings and bracelets would look so pretty piled up in these gold-rimmed bowls!

These are gorgeous. I’d use them for all different things. The large one would be perfect in my entryway to hold mail and such. One of the smaller ones could hold soaps in my bathroom, or jewelry in my bedroom. Food wise, they’d be great for holding lemons or just about any thing. They’d make anything look inviting. Would LOVE to win them!

Happy Pre-4th Blog-i-versary Amy! What I love about nesting bowls is you can use them together, apart, or just stack them beautifully. To be honest, I would fill them with easy to grab office items. Paper clips, push pins, rubberbands.. while many would think this is boring.. my home office is my sanctuary that I spend 14-16 hours a day. So I always put inspiring things around my desk.. so these 3 bowls with gorgeous gold rims, would perk up my mood at any time of day.
Great answers everyone! (Love the S’mores idea) he he… yummy…

I’d use these beauties for spiced edamame, some special popcorn & nuts during my next book club get together
Tara Bradford on 04 Oct 2011 at 3:53 pm
They ARE pretty bowls! I’d probably put my antique Bedouin jewelry/silver bracelets and necklaces from the Middle East in them – or maybe nuts prior to a dinner party. Such great, versatile bowls. Your photos make a dinner party seem so inviting. Must plan another one soon.

How beautiful! I’d use them for pretty fruit and veggies for every day, and for mix and match salads for dinner parties! I’ve been dying to try out a pear, pomegranate, and quinoa recipe I found…:)
Kristie on 04 Oct 2011 at 4:18 pm
I’d love to put all things fall in them, but I’d bet that they would end full of matchcars!!

Happy Anniversary! What a beautiful give away. I think the bowls are so beautiful, I’m sure that I would sometimes display them open and empty on my studio table. But they would also be used for seasonal displays from the garden. I imagine flower remnants dipped in gold paint and beautiful red pomegranates, or delicate, papery leaves and greenish stones from the river. What a gorgeous set! xo M

These bowls would be the centerpiece of my Thanksgiving dinner table, along with deer antlers, velvet pumpkins and other natural elements. I would use them to serve roasted root vegetables, garlic roasted mashed potatoes and piping hot Parker House rolls.
Gorgeous!

Lovely giveaway! Happy 4th Blog Anniversary! I would put in seashells and river stones during the summer months and in the winter – my favourite christmas balls (the ones too delicate to place on the tree) and my favourite wrapped chocolates. Crossing my fingers!

I’d fill them with my collection of beach-glass, shells and stones that I have collected when beach-combing. It’s one of my favorite (and one of the most relaxing) things I do when I’m away at the beach. I have a collection that I enjoy seeing displayed (now in clear glass vases of different shapes and sizes, but I could imagine the seaside souvenirs sprinkled into these pretty bowls). Thanks for asking, Amy! You are always inspiring such great decorating ideas!

Happy 4th Anniversary! Your website / blog is truly inspiring and there is always something interesting, fun and informative to discover!
These nesting bowls are really something special – I like the fact they are made from naturally shed water buffalo horn – never knew that!
They look beautiful just by themselves on a table, mantel or bookshelf but I’m thinking I would place the smallest one in the foyer with genuine Norse rune stones (a nod to my Norwegian heritage), the middle size one would be placed by the bar and filled with a collection of celebratory champagne corks and last but not least the largest bowl would be filled with handmade Colonial glass “witch” balls of different colors to catch the play of sunlight as it passes through the house every day.

Well, since we are now a family of 3 with the newest member just 8 months, I’d probably designate one to each of us: my husband loves pistachios, I’m a sucker for good olives and Bastian – well, he’d probably try to eat it and then try to wear it! Time will only tell what he’d fill his with…..

I love the idea of keeping the bowls in plain view all the time by filling them with things you use every day! Placed on the entry table by my little apartment’s door, I could use one to hold my keys, one to hold my dozens of sunglasses, and the other to keep all of my kitten Leonardo’s toys! Might prevent me from tripping over them every five minutes…

Happy fourth Amy! Love these beautiful little bowls – perfect for filling memories. I would fill them with keys and the like by the front door. Or for a fall party with nuts and seckel pears. DD would be quick to sort some squinkies in one, some of her “jewels” in another and some sort of a latest shell or rock collection in the third.

Call me weird but at the Rose Bowl Flea Market I’m always finding these little game pieces. Like Scrabble letters and army men and little Life people. I think it would be so much fun to make a Chex mix of sorts with these little game pieces and have them jumbled up in these elegant bowls. Hmmm….
