Earlier this week I picked up our thrifted mid century daybed from the furniture refinisher. As it turns out, the bed is Scandinavian and is made mostly from solid Walnut. I am so happy I had him only refinish the wood – it is absolutely stunning. (I was contemplating lacquering it for a hot second.) Now, I wonder what fabric should I upholster the mattress with? I am considering one of the two Romo fabrics featured above.
I finally went to the framing shop last weekend and decided upon a mat and frame for a poster that we plan to hang in our dining room. It will hang alongside a group of artwork that are all framed in various modern and traditional gold frames. We also took some time to hang more artwork throughout the house. As you might recall, at Christmastime mom gave us a few paintings that were collecting dust in her mechanical room.
At the same time, we brought home a set of six botanical prints that I had intended to hang in our master bedroom - until I realized how amazing they’d look in the mudroom! I know, I know. They may only hang there for a few months due to our soon-to-be glass breezeway project, but for now I love them with the Wickham Grey paint and the upholstery on the bench that we have in that room.Oh, and the fog linen is going to the upholsterer to be made into slipcovers for the fireplace room next week. Hooray for decorating progress!!
