Springtime Monday {Weekend Recipes and a Breezeway Update}

On Friday night we had Moroccan spiced soup with chicken, garbanzo beans and lentils. On Saturday night we started with New England Clam Chowder. For our entree I made a wild-caught Sole with lemon-soy marinade recipe. Remember I shared that one with you last Spring? Alongside the fish, I served my mom’s prairie salad recipe. On Sunday, I made brunch. I baked off Mom’s easy Good Morning Coffee Cake recipe and an egg and spinach strata recipe that an ABCD Design reader named Jennifer sent me. (LOVE IT!) And for dinner last night, I made Chicken Cacciatore !All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. We did however receive bad news about our glass breezeway project. We had lots of time with the draftsman at the house (who supposedly knows all the town building codes) and put the bid out to three different builders (all of whom visited the house) and none of them realized that the traditional slab our house is built on can not be connected to the monolithic slab our barn sits upon. We learned that news on Friday – so now – it’s back to the drawing board…
Today there are snow flurries and I’m off to spend the day tending to a few interior design projects. I hope that you have a great one!
