On Saturday, we stuffed ourselves full during lunch at Katz’s Deli and followed up later in the evening with a cocktail-laden appetizer-fest at Elizabeth. Little did I know that the night was just beginning when I left the apartment for lunch that afternoon wearing my jeans, clogs, and LuLuLemon sweatshirt. Somehow I ended up at the impossibly hip Jane Street Hotel Bar dressed like a country bumpkin on Saturday night!I was surrounded by all sorts of women dressed to the nines who were wearing exquisite designer heels, dripping in fur vests with their hair perfectly blown out and freshly painted manicures – and then there was me. This fashion happening is the sort of thing that never would have occurred in my twenties, but I must admit that it was a total relief to not take part in the oh-so-obvious competition. The night progressed to The Standard Hotel - where we wrapped things up in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Of course, I spent both Monday and Tuesday in recovery from all my childish fun. After she tweeted that she needed a NYC invitation designer, I took on a quick project with Kelley L. Moore. Because of it, I got to design a party invitation for a segment on the Nate Berkus Show. Don’t worry, I’ll let you know when it airs! But here I am, (yet again) praising the powers of Twitter. Oh, and after two days of ice storms in Northwest Connecticut, I am at the country house overseeing the final touches on the kitchen renovation. A swoop of paint on the ceiling and I’ll be good to go – at long last, no?
