While I was in the City last week, we had our first frost and multiple days of windy rain. By the time I returned to The Country House, most of the mums I had in containers appeared to have passed their prime. The only ones that remained looking good were the mums that flank the screened in porch door. (As you might recall, they were tight buds when I purchased them back in late September.) We had two real estate showings this past weekend and I had very little time on Friday afternoon to figure out what fill my containers with – so I went into the side yard and borrowed from Mother Nature herself!Later this week we’ll take a peek inside at the Halloween Flowers and decorations that I put out at The Country House this year. As you might expect, I didn’t want to go too over-the-top with holiday themed decorating as it may be distracting during house showings. And speaking of Halloween Decor – I can’t wait for next Halloween when we’ll actually have trick-or-treaters at the New Old Stone House. From what I understand, our corner is the hub for neighborhood Halloween festivities. Omgosh, how completely fun is that going to be?
