Oct 26th 2010 City {Halloween} Country {Halloween}

What’s the best part of living in two totally different places? Getting to decorate twice! These Halloween lanterns are new to the ABCD collection this year. They came from At West End. I ordered them shortly after I wrote a post that featured Halloween Decor and Fall Recipe links. The post I wrote led to @At_West_End and I becoming friends on Twitter, which then turned into that fab blog-i-versary giveaway on ABCD Design – the rest is history! I love how that all worked out. Don’t you?

Oct 8th 2010 {3rd blog-i-versary Giveaway #6} Spooky Halloween Decor

Just in time to put out the Halloween decorations, At West End has offered to help ABCD Design celebrate it’s 3rd blog-i-versary by gifting one lucky reader a Spooky Jack Halloween Lantern! If you don’t know by now, Fall is my very favorite season, and Halloween (in my book) is the very best holiday. Gosh, how I love baking sugar cookies in the shape of bats, cats and pumpkins and getting dressed up in scary Halloween costumes!Do you have any Halloween traditions? When I was a kid, my mom made beef stew every Halloween. As an adult, I keep the tradition alive by making a pot of it the afternoon of the 31st. It is a wonderful recipe because it can cook for hours without ruining – as a matter of fact - the longer it bubbles away in the oven the better it tastes! It’s the perfect meal that is happy to wait until the evening tricks -or- treats are over. Not to mention, beef stew just smells like Fall.To enter to win the Spooky Jack Halloween Lantern we’d like for you to comment on this post. Tell us what your plans are for Halloween. What is your Halloween tradition? We’d love to know! Please help us spread the word about this spook-tacular prize on Twitter too. Mention @abcddesigns and @at_west_end so we’re certain to see you tweeting about this super scary Halloween giveaway.

FYI: you have until the day written below to enter to win…
Monday: ‘Rollings of Cinnamon’ apron by Ice Milk Aprons
Tuesday: a copy of Emily Anderson’s Eco Chic Home
Wednesday: Michele Varian’s My Life Story Journal
Thursday: THREE matchbox and candle stocking stuffer sets from Shandell’s
Friday: a library of lifestyle inspiration including FIVE titles from Chronicle books
And until next Friday afternoon to enter to win the Spooky Jack from At West End - BOO!

Update, 4pm October 15th: Comments have now closed – we’ll be announcing the winner shortly. Thanks to everyone who left a comment and entered to win!
